Baktai is the largest country on the face of the continent, and as such, the most populated. The home of humans, they began their humble begginings in marked history as nomads who wandered the land, living off of nature's bounty. Overtime, however, many humans settled down and began building stone dwellings, learning to farm, and make weapons and armor, In this fashion, a great kingdom was eventually formed, and the Monarchy of Baktai was established. The kingdom flourished, and eventually set up friendly relations with Solonea, the Country of Magic.
While many accepted this kind of lifestyle, a few decided to maintain their nomadic ways, and traveled north to live out their days peacefully. However, eventually they banded together in larger tribes and settled down, using simple buildings and living off the land like their ancestors before them. Crafting leather armor and strange, exotic curved swords, the became known as the samurai, those who serve the land. They proved to be fearless warriors, engaging in many of the country's civil wars to make their presence known, and to protect their isolationism. As such, they are fewed as a kind of mercenary society, working for whomever guarantees their safety. Many have respect for these warriors, and even the monorachy's soldiers have, at times, adopted their fighting style and weapons.
For centuries, a human king has always ruled the throne. As with any kingdom of this type, there were often splits in the royal family. Just recently, Baktai has emerged another civil conflict, with a disowned prince and the one in line for the throne at each others throats. In the end, the prince was defeated, and fled into the wilderness, never to be heard of again. The victory was short lived, however. Tired, weary of war, and the military weakened, the Hyruuga attacked Baktai without warning. They quickly swarmed the country, taking more then half of it in less then a month. Now, only a few stalwart defenders remain to defend their lands to the death. Even with Solonea's aid, the situation seems bleak....
